About This Spot
Stepping into Pho Sai Gon on Metcalf Avenue feels like slipping into a familiar neighborhood spot where the hum of conversation and the welcoming bustle set a comforting pace. It’s the kind of place where locals gather not just to eat but to share small moments—tinkering with the condiment bar, customizing their bowls with generous sprigs of fresh herbs, or savoring a quiet sip of Vietnamese coffee as the kitchen quietly hums in the background.
The atmosphere here is straightforward and unpretentious, inviting guests to slow down just enough to appreciate the ritual of assembling the perfect bowl of pho or layering flavors in a bánh mì. There’s a subtle warmth in the way the staff and diners interact, a gentle rhythm that feels both lived-in and quietly enthusiastic—like returning to a favorite chapter in a shared story every time you visit.
Exploring the menu unfolds like a sensory journey through Vietnam’s diverse culinary corners, with each dish offering its own personal touch. Whether it’s the fresh bite of spring rolls crisped to order or a deeply aromatic bowl of spicy beef noodle soup, the food here invites you to linger and discover nuances in every spoonful. The presence of a well-stocked condiment bar encourages a hands-on approach, making each meal a little more personal—adding just the right amount of heat, tartness, or herbal brightness to match your mood.

It’s a place that captures how food can be both nourishment and a quiet celebration of community—a simple pleasure that keeps people coming back, bowl after bowl.

This is hands down the best Vietnamese pho in town! I’ve tried pretty much everywhere, and nothing compares. The number one reason they stand out is because they’re the only place that gives unlimited basil and cilantro toppings — everyone else limits you! The food is always amazing, the staff is always nice, and it’s just great to see how much they’ve grown. It used to be a small spot, and now it’s booming. They truly deserve it!

I get the hot and sour sea food pho every time I go. Its been great seeing how they've changed the place up since we started going again year ago. The food and atmosphere have improved a lot! The boba tea is also very good. The best one so far is definitely the green tea.

Stopped by here yesterday to check out their pho, their coffee and their desserts. I had the chicken pho. It was loaded with chicken and the noodles were great. They have a bar where you can fix your own add ons from hot and sweet sauce to limes, bean sprouts, mint, lettuce and cilantro. Overall their pho was amazing 9 out of 10. I tried their spring rolls as well, unfortunately they had cilantro in them and no amount of delicious penut sauce was able to cover up the soap taste for me. I couldn't quite enjoy these 2 out of 10. I tried their Vietnamese coffee, wow 10 out of 10. Def would visit again

Great experience, good food! I would recommend. They have this extra XTRA hot pepper so watch out- i was warned but ignore the warning. I love their food. Check them out. Wait for food was less than 5 mins and was steaming hot.

Love this place bc it’s my go to Vietnamese restaurant when I’m craving their bun Bo hue. Friends love the pho here too so I’d also recommend it. Portions are reasonable for their prices. Service is basically do it urself after you order bc you’re supposed to get your own toppings and find seating arrangements. Atmosphere wise, they could try to make the place look cooler/prettier but considering I’m mainly coming here to chow down on food, idc about aesthetic much. Perfect place for a family outing, friends hangout, or casual date.

Spicy chicken broth was delicious. Chicken leg quarter felt stale. Chicken pho was on the salty side. Chicken was flavorful. Matcha n mango bobba tea were delicious.

I've been here a couple of times and there's always a steady stream of business. The food comes out quickly. The broth is hot and beautiful golden color with full flavor. The spring rolls have pork and shrimp and are a generous size for a small price. The restaurant itself is very basic however the food is top notch!
